being openly gay with your friends while being closeted with your family is such an experience because you can spend a whole day with your friends and it feels like there are no restrictions and there’s no feeling of judgement bc, of course, they aren’t homophobic or even better! They are gay themselves but then the day ends and you have to go home and it hits you that you can’t sit around and make a “I can’t do this bc I’m gay” joke or go to anyone about the good looking girl/boy you saw today and then there’s this feeling that a big chunk of your personality has been stripped away from you and that sucks a lot lol
